Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen is important and offers a safe space for your family and friends. One of the high traffic areas is the hob. Your ceramic or electric hob needs to be kept clean in order to prevent damages and the need for an electric hob repair. Our Worcester team recommend keeping on top of cleaning this area to prevent any ingrained marks or stains and to continue performing at its best. When you use the correct products, cleaning your electric hob should be quick.

Ceramic Hob

Ceramic hobs are electric. They are easy to use, clean and tend to heat up quickly, however, the heat distribution isn’t as targeted as gas or induction. The general heating can make ceramic hobs slightly more expensive to run in comparison to induction.

Induction Hob

Induction hobs use a magnetic field to create heat meaning the hob heats the saucepan instead of the surface. Because heating is precise, the amount of energy you need to cook is far less, this means induction hobs tend to be cheaper than your standard gas or electric.

We recommend you purchase an electric hob from a reputable supplier such as Neff. Neff home appliances are designed to inspire your kitchen creativity and are continually tweaked, innovated and perfected to ensure their products are at the centre of every kitchen. Our team of engineers not only supply Neff electric hobs but we also can repair them. Our engineers perform appliance repairs across seven counties, see our service area to see if we cover your postcode.

Our Worcester based electric hob repair specialists have listed their cleaning tips below:

The most important thing is to prevent scratches across your hob’s glass surface. When you use the correct products and techniques your hob will be clean and fresh once again.

1. Start by wiping down the surface with warm soapy water.

This can be done daily after the use of your electric hob. To prevent smears and streaks we would recommend buffing the surface with a clean towel.

2. For tougher stains try a specialised cleaner.

We would recommend the Bosch hob cleaner to thoroughly remove stubborn dirt and stains. This cleaner is perfect for ceramic hobs, induction hobs, and stainless steel gas hobs.

One of the main concerns is scratching your electric hob. To prevent this, we would recommend using a microfiber cloth and removing any loose dirt and debris before cleaning.

We would recommend cleaning your hob immediately after use to prevent dirt from caking onto the glass. By integrating this process you will prevent an early electric hob repair by our Worcester engineers.

If you have tried all of our engineers’ tips, allow vinegar and baking soda to sit on the hob for around 10 minutes before wiping it off with a clean cloth. Always make sure to buff the surface after cleaning with a clean tea towel for optimal shine.

If you’ve tried our hob cleaning tips and your electric hob begins to underperform, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly team. Our vans carry a broad range of authentic NEFF replacement parts for both freestanding and built-in NEFF appliances. In addition to this, we repair 99% of faults on our first visit and, if a second visit is needed, there is no additional charge for labour.
